SALAD SUNDAY!

Les Fabuleux Deux loves salads, especially the ones with avocado combined with a good glass of sauvignon blanc. After an intensive shoppingspree and a carb-lunch,  you can always choose for a healthy salad. This salad contains rucola salad, avocado, tomatos and goatcheese. Add some oil and pepper and you’ll have a tastful sunday.

BYE BYE WEEKEND, HELLO DETOX!

Hello Monday, time to detox all your fat fast food from the weekend! Well, I have to be honest. At first the thought of drinking spinach made me want to vomit. I love to eat, I like almost every kind of food and if someone would come by with some sweet treats, I’ll will probably never say no. However, just like almost everybody, I do want to look good in my summer outfits. Therefore, last week I thought to myself I need to start a healthier lifestyle. Out with the sugar, in with the vegetables! I drank ‘green’ smoothies every morning the whole week and to my astonishment they tasted delicious. Even though they look more brown than green. But I can assure you, you don’t even taste the spinach. This morning I totally forgot about all the chocolate I did ate during the week and decided to continue with my healthy green smoothie lifestyle. And for the first time, it really was green!

Ingredients for 2 green smoothies
– juice from 2 oranges
– 125 grams of mango
– 1 banana
– 125 grams of spinach

FRIDAY NIGHT: TIME TO BAKE!

Chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate milk, chocolate cake, brownies… Les Fabuleux Deux can’t imagine this at all but, yes there are people that don’t like chocolate. The best solution for brownies are blondies. We especially love the lemon ones.

Ingredients:
100 grams flour
115 grams butter
130 grams sugar
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1 lemon

For the topping:
Powdered sugar & lemon juice

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Stir the soften butter with the flour, sugar, salt and eggs. Add the juice and zest from one lemon. Keep some juice for the topping. Put the mixture in a tin and put the tin in the oven for about 25 minutes. After 25 minutes take the tin from the oven and let it cool down. Mix the lemon juice with the powdered sugar and spread it on the blondie. Let it cool down for another 10 minutes, cut into squares and your tasty blondies are done.

MONDAY FUNDAY: TAPAS NIGHT!

On your monday night you don’t want to get into the difficult cooking. However, when your friends and family come over you would like to make some fun food. Our tip, make some nice Spanish tapas in just a few minutes. Tapas are the perfect food for chitchatting with your friends and family while eating and drinking. Talking about drinks, ain’t no tapas without a can of sangria or tinto de verano. Olive oil and garlic are the key ingredients of almost every tapa so be sure to buy tasty olive oil. Les Fabuleux Deux selected their three favourite tapas recipes. Oh and one other tip, make sure your boo eat some tapas too… Garlic alert!

MONDAY FUNDAY: M&M COOKIES

I admit, I have a sweet tooth. So bring in the chocolate! Les Fabuleux Deux loves to bake and we think it’s always fun to make some sweets for our friends. That’s why we made these delicious M&M cookies.

Ingredients for 9 cookies
– 160 grams flower
– 180 grams of caster sugar
– 115 grams butter
– 1 egg
– M&M’s
– Peanuts

Preheat the oven  to 200 degrees Celsius.

First put the flower and the sugar in a bowl. Then add the butter and the egg, knead the dough with your hands. Add as much peanuts and M&M’s as you like. Make nine little balls from the dough. Put this in the oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes take the cookies out of the oven and let them cool down for about an half hour.

MONDAY FUNDAY: HOMEMADE PIZZA ITALIANA

This dish is very easy to make and delicious to eat after a hard day at work.

Here you go: buy a roll of pizza dough at your local supermarket (for Dutchies: AH Pizzarol) and make your own pizza bottom. Preheat your oven on 250 degrees. Spread the tomato sauce over the dough. Then, put your filling on the dough: onions, mushrooms, salami, slices of tomato, artichoke hearts, mozzarella and grana/padano cheese. Add some Italian spices and then put your pizza in the oven for 1o-12 minutes but keep an eye on the bottom of the pizza. After preparation in the oven, you add some ham (raw), rucola and pour yourself a glass of red wine and you’re done!
